Take another look at the body ...

A body modification is a transformation, localized or widespread, reversible or not, the body of an individual, by a practice for a purpose and a cultural nature. If natural phenomena such as growth, pregnancy, old age or certain diseases, or medical or surgical treatments cause changes in the body, the term is used in anthropology to describe more specifically the artificial body modifications, controlled and deliberate, excluding punitive mutilation and self-mutilation within psychiatric disorders.
